This eight-hour charter on the Hudson begins at Englewood Boat Basin, the marina that Sinterra calls home, located on Henry Hudson Drive in Englewood Cliffs, NJ. It follows the same route as the Manhattan Tour for the first two hours, but then after circling around the Statue of Liberty, and stopping for lunch, Sinterra will aim east and go around Governor’s Island and then northeast past the enormous piers that flank the East River.
Stately bridges make this a picturesque ride as Sinterra passes the Seaport on its port side and then ducks beneath the Brooklyn Bridge, the Manhattan Bridge, and the Williamsburg Bridge all of which connect the Lower East Side to Brooklyn. As the East River widens, the views of Manhattan from the east side expose FDR Drive and the East Village, and the highlights of Brooklyn on the starboard side. Next up is the Roosevelt Island Reef that support the Ed Koch Queensboro Bridge. Sinterra guests will get a unique perspective of Queens, and the unexpected cable car lines as well.
From the East River, Captain Gary will steer the boat, hugging the coast of Manhattan, into the Harlem River, passing beneath Ward’s Island Bridge, the Robert F. Kennedy Bridge, and countless other viaducts. Sinterra will continue up this lengthy river whose banks house cultural, educational, religious, and recreational venues such as the Apollo Theater, The City College of New York, the Jackie Robinson Recreation Center, Yankee Stadium, Stadium Tennis Center, Columbia University, and the Abyssinian Baptist Church, founded as NYC’s first African American Baptist Church in 1808.
There will be one more chance to stop and enjoy a delicious gourmet dinner when Sinterra drops her anchor in Sherman Creek. Once everyone is full, and the sun is beginning to set, Sinterra will head back to port by finishing the cruise north on the Harlem River, entering back into the Hudson and crossing over to the Jersey side, completing the loop around New York City!
This eight-hour cruise gives passengers panoramic views of Manhattan as well as a unique perspective not often seen of NYC from the east side. It also shows off Brooklyn and the industrious construction of so many bridges that make New York the economic powerhouse that it is. Riders will be treated to the best vantage point while they complete a circle around Manhattan, all while eating, drinking, conversing and laughing with friends. This excursion makes for a fantastic corporate party, milestone celebration with friends or family, or even a romantic cruise for a few couples.
